Not only do we talk through the process of deciding to go, but also wading through the fear, anxiety, barriers, and self-doubt that come with any major life shift. It's also been shown that students who study abroad fare better in the job market, are more likely to embrace new experiences that come up in their professional lives, and tend to show increased adaptability.

Have you ever been asked to relocate for a job? If you haven't yet, there's a good chance that you might face the decision at some point in your career. In fact, about 1/5 of employees have been asked to move at least once.
Lindsay and I have both been asked to move multiple times in our early careers. In some situations, we said yes. I moved to Austin and she moved to San Francisco (from Boston). However, we both ended up back in Boston and then were asked to move AGAIN.

The consultant life also has many pros and cons and we talk to Kelly about the impact of excessive travel on her relationships, health, and overall mindset. We also discuss whether consulting is a lifelong career path or only manageable at certain points in life.

This week we hear from Dan Ziner on a goal that is becoming more and more common for runners. The challenge to run a marathon in every state! Dan has been at this goal for a few years now and is currently sitting at 41/50. The 50 State Marathon Club is one that has been growing over the last 15 years. Yes, there is a real club for this. What started out as having only 82 members in 2001 has now grown to over 4,000 - with about 1,500 people having run all 50.
Dan has his eyes set on joining those ranks. Today we talk to Dan about what inspired him to set this goal, how he manages a hectic training schedule, and how this goal impacts other areas of his life.
